What web accessibility is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.

Accessibility adjustments on this site

We have adapted this site in accordance with WCAG 2.1 guidelines, and have made the site accessible to the level of AA . This site's contents have been adapted to work with assistive technologies, such as screen readers and keyboard use. As part of this effort, we have also:

  • Used the Accessibility Wizard to find and fix potential accessibility issues

  • Set the language of the site

  • Set the content order of the site’s pages

  • Defined clear heading structures on all of the site’s pages

  • Added alternative text to images

  • Implemented color combinations that meet the required color contrast

  • Reduced the use of motion on the site

  • Ensured all videos, audio, and files on the site are accessible

Equal Access & Nondiscrimination

Our Pathway, Inc. does not discriminate on the basis of disability and provides reasonable accommodations to ensure equal access to services for students eligible under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and applicable Florida statutes.

Services are delivered in a manner intended to support students with documented disabilities, learning differences, and unique abilities, consistent with parent direction, student educational plans, and allowable STEP UP UA reimbursable services.

Accessibility arrangements in the organization

Physical Accessibility

Our Pathway, Inc. provides in-person educational and supplemental services at a ground-level, shared-use facility. Reasonable efforts are made to ensure that students, families, and visitors with disabilities are able to access services in compliance with applicable federal and Florida law, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act.

The service location includes:

  • Ground-level entry to instructional areas

  • Accessible pathways to classrooms and program spaces

  • Accessible parking or drop-off options provided by the host facility

Instructional spaces are selected to support safe and equitable access. Where individual needs arise, reasonable accommodations are provided to support participation in alignment with parent-directed educational services under the STEP UP for Students – Unique Abilities (UA) scholarship program.

Because services are provided within a shared facility, certain structural elements (including parking, restrooms, and building infrastructure) are maintained by the host organization. Our Pathway, Inc. does not control all aspects of the physical premises but will work collaboratively with families to support access whenever feasible.

Requests for accessibility accommodations should be submitted in advance to allow appropriate arrangements to be made.

Student Records, Privacy, and FERPA Alignment

Our Pathway, Inc. is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of student educational records. Student information is collected, maintained, and used solely for educational, administrative, and reimbursement purposes consistent with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), applicable Florida law, and STEP UP UA program requirements.

Student records may include, but are not limited to:

  • Enrollment and attendance documentation

  • Educational plans, progress notes, and service records

  • Parent-provided evaluations or reports (e.g., IEPs, 504 Plans, medical or educational documentation)

Access to student records is restricted to authorized personnel only and is not disclosed to third parties except:

  • With written parent or guardian consent

  • As required for STEP UP UA scholarship administration or audits

  • As required by law

Parents retain the right to review and request corrections to their child’s educational records in accordance with FERPA.

Records Retention & Data Handling

  • STEP UP for Students Unique Abilities program requirements

  • Applicable Florida record retention standards

  • Federal privacy and education regulations

Records are retained only for the period necessary to meet educational, legal, and audit obligations and are securely destroyed when no longer required.
